End of Year Fun Event
for all club members, their families and our volunteers
4 person Handicap relay event including 3x 2km, & a 1 mile (last runner)
2 person walk relay with 1 leg of 2km and 1 leg of a mile (second walker)
START & FINISH
All Club Runners, club parents, and volunteers can participate in the 4-leg "closest to estimated time" relay. Legs are of varying distances so suitable for everyone. All laps start and finish on our world-class athletics arena right here on home turf in Christchurch.
Gather together a team of four from your club to enjoy this relay event. Then join us for the presentation of the "Club of the Year", various trophies and our latest athletes of the week awards.
A free sausage in bread for all participants.
Cash bar operating
There is are some rolling banks around the hub, some of which we may be able to access as part of the run course. The final relay route is still being planned as construction and building work is still being completed at Ngā Puna Wai.

Team Relay Details
There is a four person team relay for runners and a two person relay for walkers.
The aim in each event is for the team to predict their overall time and then try to match this without wearing a watch.
The winning team is the one closest to their initial prediction.
The run relay event will have runners run 3 x 2km laps, then the final runner will finish by running the 1 mile around the track.
The walk relay will have 2 legs - 1 x 2km and then the final walker going for a mile walk around the track.
Event start times
This is a handicap relay based on estimated team time. First teams will set off at 3:30pm
A flat hard surface course using the Ngā Puna Wai surrounds, starting and finishing on the stadium track.

4 x various lengths: 3x2km and final 1 mile on track

2 legs 1x2km and final 1 mile on track
ENTRIES CLOSE: 3pm Sunday 10th October
Team categories: Open to club members with parents, social and volunteer club members very welcome; Teams can be single or mixed genders.
Pricing: $20 per Team ($5 per person) for Run Relay; $10 ($5 per person) for Walk Relay
ESTIMATING YOUR TEAM TIME
All teams are required to estimate each runners leg time and this will be used to generate a total time for the team. If your team is a bit faster you will be set off behind others to ensure we have an exciting finish.
The winning team is the team who gets closest to their estimated time, so be realistic.
TO ENTER: Club secretaries simply supply a spreadsheet with teams listed to with the following information and pay $5 per person into the listed bank account putting your club name as reference. (This is what is paying for the barbeque)

Since 2016, this relay event has been named after Pete Watts.
Pete devoted over 50 years to running and coaching in Canterbury.
