The Cross-Country Champs will once again kick off in the beautiful surrounds of Halswell Quarry in Christchurch's south at the base of the Port Hills. The challenging and undulating 2km course traverses both open grassland and through some forested areas. Seniors and Masters age competitors run several of the complete laps depending on age and junior competitors will complete either the large lap or smaller one (1km), again depending on age.

Height gain:
There's 22m elevation and almost all the course is on grass. The paths on the hill section are well formed trails . There will be some man-made tape to guide you around the  faster running on the grassland areas.
