Course Details
Location:

The event is at Bottle Lake with Entry via gate just before Bottle Lake Forest Park Headquarters. Follow signs from Burwood Road. Park in the grass paddock.
Lap:

Every athlete completes the same approximately 5.2km lap
​
Course:
​

This 5.25k course starts on Landfill Avenue, heads towards the beach, goes anticlockwise over the left end of the middle hill, before returning down Landfill Avenue.

The first 1.75km is sealed road, then 1.75km of unsealed road including one gentle uphill climb of approximately 300m length and a gentle to moderate downhill back to the flat, before finishing with 1.75km of sealed road.

Run on the right side of the Landfill Avenue both ways. Run between the cones on the shingle.

Runners must run on the right side of the road all the way until channeled onto the right to exchange baton or finish.

Finishing runners will cross the finish line and then hand their baton to their outgoing runner.

Team tents should be erected on the right-hand side of the road towards the beach from the start/finish line so teams can support their competing runner.

Parking will be in the same grass paddock off Waitikiri Drive (opposite #85) as used for
Canterbury Road Championships in the past.

Laps: Under 20 and older - 6 laps,

Under 16 - 4 laps
Grades:

SM, SW, Combined A (at least 3 females)

MM 35+, MW 35+, Masters 35+ Combined (at least 3 females)

MM 50+, MW 50+, Masters 50+ Combined (at least 3 females)

U/20M, U/20W, U/20 Combined (at least 3 females)

U/16B, U/16G, U/16 Combined (at least 2 females) - Athletes must be 13 years or older on the 31st of December 2025

Medals
-
First, second and third in each grade will get medals. Any team can win the grade medals.
​
The prize giving will be held as soon as possible after the last team finishes. Aim is to start at 11.45am
