Taking advantage of the twists and turns available at Rawhiti Domain, this Championship event is an opportunity to head out strong and fast secure in the knowledge the event is shorter than the long course event!

Course Map

Location: Rawhiti Domain, New Brighton. Entrance opposite 347 Keyes Road (not Shaw Ave).

Hurdles - There will be two hurdles per lap with an optional long-cut to go around these.

Community Runners are welcome to join in this event for a cost of $20 (U18+) and $10 (U16). Please enter on the day with cash or the ability to pay into the Christchurch Avon bank account.

Race Timetable

  • 12.10pm Race 1

    • MM 80 plus, Boys U16 2 full laps 3km

    • Senior Men, MM 35 – 79, U18 & U20 Men 3 full laps 4.5km

  • 12.50pm Race 2

    • MW 65 plus 2 full laps 3km

    • Senior Women, MW 35-64, U18 & U20 Women 3 full laps 4.5km

  • 1.30pm Race 3

    • Boys U14 & Girls U14 & U16 2 half laps 2.2km

    • Open Boys and Girls Walk

  • 1.55pm Race 4

    • Boys & Girls U10 & U12 2 small laps 1.8km

 

Christchurch Avon welcome people to join them post the event at the Good Horse.

Medals & Teams competition  

Canterbury Short Course Cross Country Championship medals will be presented after each event to the first three in each male and female grade: U10, U12, U/14, U/16, U/18, U/20, Open, Senior, M35-49, M50-64, MM65-79, MW65+ and MM80+

 

Team Competitions will be held for Open Men, Open Women, Senior Men, Senior Women, MM35-49, MW 35-49, MM50-64, MW50+, MM65+, U18 & U20 Men combined, U18 &U20 Women combined, U/16, Boys, U/14 & U/16 Girls combined, U/14 Boys, U/10 & U/12 Boys combined, U/10 & U/12 Girls combined.

First four to count in all Kennett Cup teams races. If no four-person team finishes, then the counting team. Number will reduce to three (two, if no three person teams finish). The team’s title will be awarded, even if only one team finishes.
