to Cross Country 2025

For the 2025 season we have split the information on the programme into Cross-Country and Road sections. Both sections will operate the Running Passport for our younger runners and, for the Cross-Country section, a Championship Challenge for those in the Under 18 grade and above.

This website covers the five events included in the Cross-Country Challenge. The Road website (available in May) covers those events held later in the season.

 

Here are also the links to the Daniel Reese Relay, the Lakeside Trail Relay and the Port Hills U18 races, all of which are run by clubs and so form part of our winter progamme. 

​Run in our Road events, the excellent club races, and the Cross-Country Challenge events to have a full year of racing. Your registration covers  the winter programme.​​​

A new running challenge exclusively for registered runners in the U18+grades- i.e. 16 years and over at the end of 2025.

Join our community of runners and earn points towards becoming the:

  • Overall Champion in your age grade

  • A Hill Champion 

  • A Sprint Champion

The CC Challenge Events

Run in all five events to achieve your Championship Goal or your passport stamps.

 

  • The Bottle Lake Assault - 2 * 2km loops in the straight race up and over the Bottle Lake Hill. 

  • Friday Night Lights - the loops in the University Ilam Fields 

  • The Cross-Country Short Course at Rawhiti Domain

  • The Cross-Country Long Course at Ascot Park

  • The Mid-Winter Time Trial - a 1 k loop course at Hagley Park â€‹

The Passport

For 2025 we have developed a Runners passport for our Under 16 runners so they can have a physical record of their achievements over the season.

 

Starting with the Daniel Reese Relay, where both the passport and first stamp can be collected, after each of the events completed there is a specific stamp available to record race completion.

​

​Event specific stamps will be available after each race for those who have finished. Athletes should simply go to the information desk with their passport, and we will give them the right stamp for that event. Initial passports are free of charge; replacement passports will cost $5. 

​

Collect all 10 to have a full record of the 2025 season. Collect at least 8 and get to join in the VIP end of season event.
