The CC Challenge

So here's how it all works:

  1. The Challenge covers races within the five events of the Bottle Lake Hill Assault, Friday Night Lights, the Kennett Cup, the Cross-Country long course Championships and the Time Trial.

  2. The overall Cross-Country Challenge will be run over specific Age Grades as detailed in the section below.

    1. Times will be based on lowest accumulated times across all 5 events with,

    2. Bonus time "removals" given for 1st (20 seconds); 2nd (12 seconds) and 3rd (8 seconds) except perhaps the time trial.

    3. In Friday Night Lights Eliminator, anyone that doesn't make it through to the final lap will be awarded the time of the 2nd slowest runner on the 2/3rd lap in their grade. The slowest runner in laps 2/3 will also be given this time. Runners in the Open race will be given their fastest lap time.

    4. In the case of missed races:

      1. If you miss 1 race you will be given the average time of your grade.

      2. If you miss 2 or more, you will be given the slowest time of your grade.

  3. For 2025 the Hill Champion will be based on the 4k Bottle Lake Hill Assault scratch race - winners in the grade will become the champions.

  4. Likewise, the 2025 Sprint Champions will be based on the Time Trial.

  5. Challenge awards will be presented at the end of the series.

  6. Those leading after successive events in the overall championship will be given a bespoke yellow or orange armband to wear at the next event, so everyone knows who to target.
